I flew back to Scotand yesterday to attend the funeral of Neil Adams a dear friend.

Living so far away and not attending would not have given me the closure over such a distressing loss.

Yesterday, Spade was celebrated with music, laughter, friends, drink and a bucket full of tears.

So today I fly back to Australia more content that I have stood in a bar with all of our friends and his family and sang to the roofs at the top of our voices about a man who will always have a special place in or hearts.

And you  know what, I reckon he was in that bar with us.

God bless you Spade.

I think you will agree that the number of people that attended the celebration of his life was fitting for the person he was. When I heard the news the first thing that I thought was how I will miss that sparkle that he spread so effortlessly. He was the light in the candle and the rays of the sun shine….. The good go young and it is for us left behind to ask why?

Hi mate, it was really nice to meet you but under such terrible circumstances. I hope the trip back was not so long. I actually saw your plane leave while I was walking the dog about 2.50pm ish - keep in touch - cheers Richie.

Spud, you are a true gent. What a great effort to celebrate the life of our great friend. Look after yourself, hope the family are well. Ping me an email and we will keep in touch. It was good to see Ally after all these years as well. I just wish it was in better circumstances.

Hi Spud

It was a pleasure to meet you at Spade’s celebration. It did feel like he was there, I half expected him to appear, guitar in hand with a huge smile across his face. I had to get a plane same day so missed the music and singing, it sounds as if it was the right celebration.

Cheers
John

Hi Steven & Pete, I’ve just heard of Neil death & was shocked and saddened I can’t imagine what his family and you his friends are going through. Fun times spent travelling from Newcastle to Edinburgh then on to the Piano bar we will always
remember Neil as compasionate fun to be around times have change but the fond momories will remain unchagned

Hey Patsy,
Thanks for your wee note. They were great times, spent with fantastic friends. I was absolutely gutted about Spade, but as in life, he brought us all together to share some brilliant times again. Unfortunately it was at his wake. But he would have been proud to have seen us all enjoying ourselves.
It was good to hear from you after all this time.
I hope life is treating you well and Geordie retailers are still buying big houses and flash cars on your custom! Give my love to Maureen.
Sx
